What is it like to work in Senetic's international team?

Skills of Future Managers: Insights from Our Vice President

The market is changing faster today than ever before. The rise of artificial intelligence, automation, and shifting employee expectations mean that the role of a manager looks completely different than it did just a few years ago. Łukasz, Vice President at Senetic, shares his insights on which competencies will be crucial for the leaders of tomorrow and what he expects from his own managers.

The Future Manager Is More Than Just an Expert

For years, managers were primarily expected to deliver business results, manage teams effectively, and oversee processes. Today, that is no longer enough.

A manager must understand the business, develop people, know how to leverage new technologies, and build an environment that enables teams to operate with increasing autonomy. Their job is no longer to micro-manage every single action, but to create the conditions for achieving the best possible results.

What Do We Value Most in Our Managers?

“I most value managers who don’t build their worth on being a bottleneck through whom everything must pass. The best leaders build teams that can operate independently, make decisions, and take ownership of results—both when things go well and when mistakes or failures happen.”

In a dynamic business environment, the organizations that win are not those where every decision requires managerial approval. The winners are those that can foster a culture of responsibility, trust, and ownership at every level of the organization.

That is why I especially appreciate managers who develop their people, delegate responsibility, foster cross-team collaboration, and look at the bigger picture rather than just the scope of their own department.

AI Won’t Replace Managers. It Will Replace Managers Who Refuse to Grow.

Artificial intelligence is becoming one of our most vital work tools. I don’t expect every manager to be a tech or programming expert. However, I do expect openness to change, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.

Today, managing a team well is no longer enough. You must also know how to use technology to eliminate repetitive tasks, streamline processes, and boost work efficiency.

If a manager is still doing the exact same tasks they did three years ago and isn’t thinking about how to leverage AI or automation, they will soon run out of time for what truly matters: developing people, building strategy, and identifying new business opportunities.

What Skills Will We Expect From Future Leaders?

Looking at the direction of market development, five competencies are becoming particularly critical:

  • Agility: The ability to adapt quickly to change.
  • Continuous Learning: Ongoing personal development and a growth mindset.
  • Tech Savviness: Integrating AI and new technologies into daily work.
  • Business Acumen: Thinking strategically and understanding how decisions impact company results.
  • Empowerment: Building engaged, autonomous teams.

We will judge managers less and less by how busy they look, and more and more by how effectively they develop people, optimize processes, and leverage technology to drive their teams’ efficiency.

Leaders Who Stay Ahead of the Curve

The biggest risk to organizations today isn’t artificial intelligence. It is the lack of readiness to change.

At Senetic, we believe that the best managers will be those who can learn faster than the business environment changes. These leaders don’t just deliver results—above all, they help their teams grow and prepare the organization for the challenges of tomorrow.
